About meSon of Irish immigrants. Counties Armagh and Mayo. Orland Park raised along with 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Taught to work from the day I could push a broom for the family business. Book learned by brothers, nuns and a fiery marching band director with a bullhorn. Then on to college, volunteer work overseas, carpentry work back home and a few misfires at adulthood. Found my way to love, marriage, teaching, kids and a minivan. I try to cherish the moments but, like the rest of us, I probably spend too much time with my head down and shoulders to the plow.
